Wanted Nusra terrorist arrested by Lebanese security forces near Syrian border

The Lebanese Internal Security Forces arrested a wanted terrorist from the outlawed Al-Nusra Front near the border-city of ‘Arsal on Thursday, a military communique read this weekend.

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - The Lebanese Internal Security Forces arrested a wanted terrorist from the outlawed Al-Nusra Front near the border-city of ‘Arsal on Thursday, a military communique read this weekend.

According to the communique, the Internal Security Forces arrested the Al-Nusra Front member while combing through the ‘Arsal area in eastern Lebanon.

The Al-Nusra Front members was identified in the communique by the initals of “A.Q.”; he is a Syrian national and 23 years old.

“Through its round-the-clock monitoring of the activities of members of terrorist groups, especially those who fought against the Lebanese Army in Arsal’s outskirts, the ISF Intelligence Branch has managed to detect and arrest Syrian national A.Q., 23, in the town of Arsal,” an ISF statement read, as quoted by the AFP.

”During interrogation, he confessed that he had entered Lebanon along with his family in 2014 and that he joined the ranks of al-Nusra Front,” the communique concluded.
